Dear Colleagues,
GenStructure (bionet.genome.gene-structure) has been rapidly evolving over
the past few months. At first the group consisted of just the news group.
We later added a companion web page and I am writing to inform you of the
next step in the evolution of the GenStructure news group, the GenStructure
Review Series.
The on-line review series will provide an opportunity for researchers at
all career levels to develop thought provoking reviews and at the same time
spur debate and discussion in the news group. We wish to promote the the
work of all researchers who have the ability to communicate complex ideas
and sythesize concepts which are lucid to all readers.
The reviews will be selected by the Discussion Leaders after consultation
with atleast one external referee. In this way we hope that the
GenStructure Reviews will provide a needed forum for fresh ideas and
concepts. It is not our aim to compete with "invited reviews" found in
many "print" journals but to compliment them by enabling ideas of many
rather than the few to be heard.
Again I encourage all readers of GenStructure to consider this opportunity
and I ask that you make copies of the following message (part 2) for
distribution among your fellow colleagues.
Sincerely,
Graham Dellaire
Moderator GenStructure
