I am trying to find out the distribution of citations per paper in
the scientific literature in general, or biology in particular. I
know that I can get that information for any particular journal in
ISI's database that they send with the Citation Index, but I didn't
see any overall totals.
I remember that there was a fuss a few years ago about how many
papers were never cited, so someone must have figured out means
and so on.
