E-print server

The conventional paper press is hardly likely to give a balanced
view of the impending e-print revolution (a la Ginsparg) planned by
Varmus and his advisers at NIH. The latest issue of Nature Structural
Biology (NSB) leads off rhetorically with "Would you use an e-print
server?" (vol 6, 399-400).

NSB invites you to respond to them directly.

Thus NSB aims to provide a forum (which of course NSB will moderate)
on this important subject which greatly affects NSB's future.

Bionet.journals.note provides an open UNMODERATED forum for
discussions of this important matter, with NO links to the conventional
press.

Sincerely, Donald Forsdyke. Discussion Leader.
