The Plant Genome Studies and Biotechnology (PGSB) Group at ISU consists of
19 highly collaborative faculty from six academic departments within the
Interdepartmental Genetics (IG) major at Iowa State University. This
group provides research training concentrating on the many new questions
which can be answered using data and scientific approaches developed from
the on-going plant genome projects. The PGSB Group has been awarded USDA
National Needs Graduate Fellowships in Plant Biotechnology. These
fellowships provide $17,000 per year for three years to highly qualified
students. Additional graduate fellowships and assistantship stipends are
available through ISU's IG program.

Faculty participants in the PGSB group (and their academic departments) are:

Phil Becraft (Zoology and Genetics; Agronomy)
Charlotte R. Bronson (Plant Pathology)
Charles Brummer (Agronomy)
Parag Chitnis (Biochemistry and Biophysics)
Rich B. Hall (Forestry)
Mike Lee (Agronomy)
W. Allen Miller (Plant Pathology)
Alan M. Myers (Biochemistry and Biophysics)
Basil J. Nikolau (Biochemistry and Biophysics)
Tom Peterson (Zoology & Genetics; Agronomy)
Steve R. Rodermel (Botany)
Patrick S. Schnable (Agronomy; Zoology & Genetics)
M. Paul Scott (USDA/Agronomy)
Randy C. Shoemaker (USDA/Agronomy)
Dan F. Voytas (Zoology & Genetics)
