Post-doctoral Research Associate - Tef Molecular Genetics

A post-doctoral research associate position is available immediately or
when a suitable candidate is identified. Successful candidate will focus
on genetic map construction, comparative mapping and QTL analysis in tef, a
major cereal crop in Ethiopia. The project is supported by the McKnight
Foundation's International Plant Science Research Program. The individual
will join a large team to conduct research on molecular mapping of drought
resistance and agronomic traits in cereal crops, development of
marker-assisted selection, and gene isolation. Candidate should have a Ph.
D. degree and extensive experience in RFLP and PCR-based markers. Send a
letter of interest, curriculum vitae and three references (including fax,
phone, and e-mail) to:

Prof. Henry T. Nguyen, Plant Molecular Genetics Laboratory, Mail Stop 2122,

Research Associate - Corn Molecular Genetics

A research associate permanent staff position is available immediately or
when the suitable candidate is identified. The successful candidate is
expected to assist the project leader to conduct corn genome and gene
mapping research toward the genetic improvement of drought and insect
tolerance in corn grown in the Texas High Plains. This is a collaborative
research program between Texas Tech University and the Texas A&M University
Research Center in Lubbock. Individuals with B.S. or M.S. degree in plant
sciences or biology are suitable for this position. Experience in cell or
molecular biology is an advantage. Interested persons should submit a
letter of application, a resume, college transcripts and request three
letters of reference to be sent to:
