I have two questions need your help:
1, How can I reduce the cooking time of making maize gruel with maize
flour? Are there some kinds of additive or physical methods available?
2, We found one plant of maize with two ears, but different silk colors,
one red and one white. We selfed the two ears and planted separately
the next year, and found that the two set of S1 plants were quite
uniform like pure inbred lines. The silk colors of S1 plants from the
different ears were also clear-cut different, but the red silk S1
showed quite resistant to diseases while the white one is the opposite.
How to explain this?
Any response to the questions is appreciated.
