Postdoctoral Position Available
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to continue on-going
research on the molecular and genetic control of lateral branching in
petunia. Three Decreased apical dominance (Dad) genes function in petunia
to suppress branching at the earliest nodes on the main shoot axis, and a
mutation at any one Dad locus induces lateral branch development. This
successful applicant will work on a project to isolate Dad genes by
transposon tagging and carry out genetic and molecular studies to
understand the function of the genes. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in
genetics, molecular biology or a related field and at least two years
experience in molecular biology. Experience with transposable elements and
developmental genetics is preferred. Non US citizens must have a current
