A postdoctoral position is available to study signal transduction in plant
development. CR4 is a receptor kinase critical for the differentiation of
maize leaf epidermis (Becraft et al., 1996, Science 273: 1406) and a
presumptive cognate gene has recently been isolated from Arabidopsis.
Current objectives are to identify additional components and targets of the
CR4 signal transduction pathway. Funding is available for 3 years with a
beginning salary of $26,000. Applicants must have a strong background in
molecular biology. Send letter, curriculum vitae and contact information
for three references to Philip Becraft, Zoology and Genetics Dept., 2116
Molecular Biology Building, Iowa State University, Ames, IA 50011.
