Dear Teresa,

I work at the Maize Genetics Cooperation Stock Center. Our WWW site is
http://www.uiuc.edu/ph/www/maize

Although we can't be sure, the mutant you describe sounds like an albino
mutation to me. It is probably recessive and it might be hard to get again
if you planted more of your seeds.

We maintain Genetic Mutants of corn. They are available free of charge to
the teaching and research community. If you want, we can supply you with
some seeds that when planted will give some green (or normal plants) and
some white (albino) plants in a 3:1 ratio. This will allow you and your
students to see a similar trait again. Let us know if this is what you are
looking for.

Our e-mail address is: maize at uiuc.edu
