Hello from Idaho
I have been trying to grow maize in hydroponic tanks to use the plants
for uptake and stress types of physiological/molecular studies and am
plaqued with a very stubborn phenotype that does not allow allow me to
feel comfortable with the vigor of the plants. The plants are yellow.
I have tried altering the concentrations of Fe, N, Mg, and Mn with no
change in the plants coloration. I have tried bubbling air in the tanks
with no luck. I am now growing them at about 600 micro-einstiens at the
level of the plant's crown. They are not etiolated, only yellow. If
anyone could shed some light on my ignorance (maybe share a recipe?), or
point me to a source it would be much appreciated.
