MaizeDB is delighted to present 61 new PCR primer pairs for SSR's
(simple sequence repeats; microsatellites). The data were supplied by the
Maize Microsatellite Consortium (mmc; 34 pairs) and the Missouri Maize
Project (umc; 27 pairs), courtesy of Keith Edwards and Mike McMullen.
These are posted with the other public SSR PCR primer pairs at
http://www.agron.missouri.edu/ssr.html
There are now 238 mapped microsatellites for 206 distinct genes, RFLP or
probed sites. The last major update to the public dataset
occured December 1996.
