Dear Colleague:

You are invited to attend the International Plant & Animal Genome VIII
Conference (PAG-VIII), January 9-12, 2000 taking place at the Town & Country
Hotel in San Diego, California.

The meeting will again offer the satellite sessions and workshops which
took place at Plant & Animal Genome VII.  The meeting draft for PAG-VIII
and abstracts from previous PG-I through PAG-VII meetings are now available
on the Internet via the World Wide Web (WWW) at:

Important Dates & Deadlines to Remember:

ABSTRACT DEADLINE:  October 15, 1999

   All researchers presenting posters must pre-register for the meeting to
   have their abstract printed in the final meeting program. You may submit
   your abstract electronically from:

PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  November 5, 1999
   [for the reduced fee of $375 (non-profit/univ/gov't)/$475 (industry)]

   After November 14:
   The on-site registration fee of $475 (non-profit/univ/gov't)/$575 (ind)
   applies. Postmarked date will be used for all deadlines.
   Student fee is $150.

HOTEL CUT OFF DEADLINE:  December 16, 1999

   It is expected that the hotel will be SOLD OUT so people should book early.

TRAVEL AWARD GRANT DEADLINES:

   There are also four travel award grants being offered this year. Please be
   sure to check out the http://www.intl-pag.org/pag homepage to find out more
   of the details.
