Objective plant growth indicators between dent and black lay

Indeed, 0 to 100% "milk line" score.

Rates are between 0 and 12 mg/kernel/day (see for instance Tollenaar
and Bruulsema, 1988, Can. J. Plant Sci. 68: 935-940.
