Range of kernels per ear

It is useful to search the data and photos in the various "Races of
Maize" booklets for Latin America. Here one finds a range of average
kernel row numbers from 8 (many races) to 18 or more (Chullpi of Peru
and Bolivia, and others). Numbers of kernels per row may be up to 50 or
more (Pira Naranja of Colombia, which has up to 16 rows). However, I
have seen examples of Chullpi with 32 rows and Cuzco with 4 and 6 rows.
Maize with 16 rows is not predominant, except for certain races.
