POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the PI and Project Manager, the person in
this position will be responsible for designing and implementing
laboratory and field molecular biology experiments. Duties will
include carrying out all protocols related to assigned project tasks,
ordering materials and supplies for laboratory use, maintaining lab
computer databases and inventory, and coordinating daily laboratory
operations. The individual in this position will have an opportunity
to be exposed to high throughput genomics protocols and relevant
instruments in a well-funded environment with multiple active
research projects (http://pslab.agron.iastate.edu/).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
This position requires a B.S. with two years of related experience,
or M.S. degree in molecular biology or a related field with extensive
experience in molecular biology techniques and basic computer skills.
Preferred:
Previous work experience with daily lab operations and familiarity
with University work flow is a plus. The successful candidate should
be a highly-motivated team player and be willing to contribute and
implement original ideas to increase the efficiency and productivity
of the laboratory.
