POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE: Recombination in Plants
A postdoctoral research associate position is available immediately
to investigate transposon-induced homologous recombination in plants
(Xiao et al., 2000. Genetics 156, 2007-2017; Xiao and Peterson 2000.
Mol. Gen. Genet. 263, 22-29). The position involves conducting
original research on recombination mechanisms in plants, as a basis
for the development of homologous gene-replacement and gene-targeting
strategies. Ph.D. in molecular genetics or related discipline is
required; applicants with previous research experience in
recombination mechanisms in yeast or other organisms are especially
encouraged to apply. For foreign nationals, a current employment
visa is required. Candidate must be able to work with a diverse team
of scientists associated with Iowa State University and Phytodyne,
Inc.
