Plant Molecular Biology Technical Support Position
DuPont Central Research & Development, Biochemical Science &
Engineering has an opportunity for someone with strong skills in
molecular biology and protein biochemistry, experience in plant
transformation, and knowledge in plant genetics and cell biology.
This position is currently located in Wilmington, Delaware at the
Experimental Station. The successful candidate for this research
support position will join a research program to study plant systems.
He/She will be expected to keep good records and have excellent
written and oral communication skills to interact with a team of
scientists.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
*BS or MS degree in biology or the equivalent experience. *Strong
safety awareness. *Experience with DNA manipulation, gene expression,
transgene analysis in plants. Demonstrated skills in plasmid
construction, DNA/RNA preparation, PCR, and Southern/Northern
blotting. *Experience with protein purification and analysis in
plants. Demonstrated skills in protein gel electrophoresis, column
chromatography, and immunoblotting. *Experience with plant tissue
culture, plant transformation, and transgenic plant growth.
*Willingness to learn and deploy new techniques. *Demonstrated
ability to effectively manage time, to maintain accurate laboratory
records, and to effectively solve problems at the technical level.
*Ability to work independently of immediate supervision, while
functioning as a part of a team. *Basic knowledge of plant genetics
and cell biology. *Basic skills in scientific computing.
