A position is available for an experienced molecular geneticist to
manage the continuing development of the Plant Chromatin Database,
ChromDB (http://Ag.Arizona.Edu/chromatin/chromatin.html). ChromDB is
a key component of an NSF-funded functional genomics project that is
centered on the study chromatin protein function in maize and
Arabidopsis. Position involves design of improvements to and
extension of the current features of ChromDB, domain analyses of
Arabidopsis and maize chromatin genes, and determination of
evolutionary trends and relationships among plant, animal and fungal
chromatin genes. The most competitive applicant will be a molecular
geneticist who also has experience with database design and sequence
analysis, including database similarity searches, sequence
alignments, motif and evolutionary analysis. Interactive, teamwork
skills are important as the position requires working closely with a
multi-institutional team of scientists. Salary depends on
qualifications and experience. Requires current US work visa. Send
