Bioinformatics and database development

A position is available for an experienced molecular geneticist to 
manage the continuing development of the Plant Chromatin Database, 
ChromDB (http://Ag.Arizona.Edu/chromatin/chromatin.html). ChromDB is 
a key component of an NSF-funded functional genomics project that is 
centered on the study chromatin protein function in maize and 
Arabidopsis. Position involves design of improvements to and 
extension of the current features of ChromDB, domain analyses of 
Arabidopsis and maize chromatin genes, and determination of 
evolutionary trends and relationships among plant, animal and fungal 
chromatin genes. The most competitive applicant will be a molecular 
geneticist who also has experience with database design and sequence 
analysis, including database similarity searches, sequence 
alignments, motif and evolutionary analysis. Interactive, teamwork 
skills are important as the position requires working closely with a 
multi-institutional team of scientists. Salary depends on 
qualifications and experience. Requires current US work visa. Send
