A post-doctoral position in plant molecular biology is available at
the Horticultural Sciences Department, University of Florida,
Gainesville. The project focuses on the synthetic pathways of
beta-alanine and beta-alanine betaine and their engineering. For
background work see Physiologia Plantarum 109:225-231 (2000) and
Plant Physiology 126:1241-1246 (2001). Candidates should have a Ph.D.
in any area of plant biology. Strong skills in molecular cloning and
biochemistry, as demonstrated by thesis work and publications, are
