Hi,
I am helping a woman who is doing a 7th grade curriculum on CD ROM. It is
an investigative curriculum where students use virtual balances and
microscopes (for students who otherwise would never have the opportunity
to use such equipment). It is being sponsored by NIH. The subject of the
first piece is "Where have all the Butterflies Gone" and students are
asked to investigate all of the possible causes. The developers have even
gone to S. America to visit the butterflies' overwintering site.
One of the issues they discuss is Bt pollen. She would like students to
be able to look at the pollen under the microscope. We gave her some
pollen to take home and try but I thought it would be neater if someone
had a good SEM. If you have some nice shots of maize pollen under the
scope and would be willing to share them for a good educational cause,
could you let me know and I will let the developer, Ilse Ortabasi, know?
