Correction of previous message:
http://www.bio.net/hypermail/MAIZE/maize.200110/0009.html
The summary data for the SSR status in maize given in the last
message was in error and taken from that for the Jan 2001 date.
Please excuse my error,
The data on the www site: http://www.agron.missouri.edu/edu/ssr.html
were however correct.
Correct version reads:
With the new data, there are now 1855 SSR markers in the public sector:
868 have sequence accessions in GenBank.
639 of the accessions are cDNAs,
576 are from the Stanford EST -- Maize Gene Discovery --
Project.
A few, some 23, were mined from EST assemblies computed at TIGR.
