POSTGRADUATE RESEARCHER POSITION
FUNCTIONAL GENOMICS OF RICE BY INSERTIONAL MUTAGENESIS
We are looking for a graduate to assist with an NSF funded project on
gene tagging in rice. Knowledge of DNA isolation, PCR, southern blot
hybridization screening libraries, gene cloning and plant tissue
culture and transformation are preferred. Experience in working with
rice, and ability to work a flexible schedule as required by the
project needs associated with greenhouse and field research will be
assets. The project is carried out at the campus of the University
of California, Davis which is located about 1 hr east of the San
Francisco Bay Area and 1.5 hr west of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and
qualifications, according to the UC Davis postgraduate researcher
(PGR) scale.
