Dear Yoon-Sup,

A quick review of the following text - Kiesselbach, T.A. (1999). The
Structure and Reproduction of Corn - 50th Anniversary edition, Cold
Spring Harbor Laboratory Press, NY, provides answers to your
questions. See pages 34-37 of the above. Kiesselbach also cites an
earlier study of his (p. 36, reference 38) regarding stoma density on
the abaxial & adaxial surfaces.

The more recent publication - Freeling & Walbot (eds.) (1994). The
Maize Handbook. Springer-Verlag, NY., also provides a little further
implicit information - see chapter 3, The Maize Leaf, by Freeling &
Lane.

I'd appreciate you copying the details of any other references that
you might receive via email responses to your query.

Sincerely,
- Leszek Vincent
