Greetings MaizeNetters!
We are proud to announce the public release of MaizeGDB, a new Maize
Genetics/Genomics DataBase!
The MaizeGDB project is funded by ARS/USDA and is intended as a central
repository for maize genetic data, combining the data currently available
from MaizeDB and ZmDB into a single resource. MaizeGDB features a new web
interface developed by the project team at Iowa State University, backed by
a revised database schema (implemented in Oracle 9i) which includes
elements from the MaizeDB and ZmDB schemas. The data on the site presently
consists of recent snapshots of both MaizeDB and ZmDB.
The URL for the MaizeGDB website is http://www.maizegdb.org.
We are also looking for a postdoctoral researcher to provide biological
direction to further development of our database. If you know of any
suitable candidates, please let us know. A full job posting is available
at http://www.zmdb.iastate.edu/zmdb/jobs/postdoc_ad.html .
We hope that you enjoy visiting the site and utilizing it in your research!
Sincerely yours,
The MaizeGDB Team
