Post-doctoral Research Associate in Soybean Genome Mapping
A post-doctoral research associate position is available in the
Soybean Genomics and Biotechnology Laboratory at the University of
Missouri-Columbia. Applications will be taken until a suitable
applicant is identified. The primary responsibility of this person
will be to conduct genetic and physical mapping of soybean cyst
nematode (SCN) resistance in soybean, in collaboration with the
soybean breeders (Prof. David Sleper and Prof. Grover Shannon). The
individual is expected to assist in the development of high
throughput technologies for gene mapping and soybean molecular
breeding. Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain
effective work relationships with others in a large research team are
essential. Individuals with a Ph.D. degree in Genetics, Molecular
Biology or Biological Sciences are suitable for this position.
Experience in genome mapping and high throughput genotyping
technologies is preferred. Salary will be commensurate with
