Hi,
I am interesting in any observations any of you may have made concerning
the use of corn pollen by wild solitary bees, particularly bumblebees. If
you know of any studies that may be looked at this phenomenon, that would
be even better. In 2004 we sampled cornfields in NW Iowa for bees, but
found very few in the fields at the time pollen was shed except for a few
large species which may have just been passing over the fields. We are
very curious what others may have seen.
Thanks,
