Hi Mark Milard and members of bionet
Bob Thompson again. I have a question about some more samples. They were
sent to me by Mary Eubanks. The accession numbers I was given do not seem to
exist on the GRIN site, but I have seen some of them in the literature. I am
worried that there may have been problems with some of them. I will list
them here. I will put this out on bionet also so others with data may
respond also.
I hope to have my statistical analysis of phytoliths from the different
teosintes available on the newsletter by the end of the week. I believe that
phytolith assemblages from the glumes are fairly tightly genetically
controlled, and vary with all the teosinte varieties. I think that these
identifications can be very useful in archaeological contexts. Any help on
these accessions will be welcome.
