Sometime in the corn hybrid trial plot we do not get competitive plant stand
i.e. less plant stand due to several factors. During the yield calculation
it creates some biasness in data. I generally try a principal that in a plot
(with significant less stand) less stand contributes yield due to increased
sink size and number and side by side it reduces yield by reducing number of
years. I used the following formula:
Adjusted yield = plot yield + [per plant yield X 1/2 of (ideal plant
stand/plot - actual plant stand/plot)]
assuming that 50% of the less stand will be contributed by the increased
sink (ear size & number of years/plant increase) and rest 50% I add
mathematically.
It will be a great help if someone can suggest me whether I am correct or
any other more efficient formula.
