POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
MAIZE GENETICS LABORATORY,
THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Maize Genetics Laboratory at the Penn State University. The position will focus on fine mapping and map based cloning of genes involved in epigenetic regulation in maize. Experience in gene mapping using SSR and SNP markers in maize is essential. An expertise in plant molecular biology methods, genetic and epigenetic analysis, use of genomic tools for gene expression, DNA methylation and chromatin analysis is required. Familiarity with QTL mapping, association mapping and various bioinformatics tools is a plus. The position also involves interaction with collaborating laboratory for the characterization of next generation sequencing data obtained from bisulfite-seq, small RNA-seq, and ChIP-seq. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team are essential.
