Job Description:
AgReliant Genetics, LLC is seeking research interns for the summer of 2012. AgReliant has research programs in conventional breeding, native trait discovery, transgenic conversion, and research farm management. Students interested in agricultural research careers are encouraged to apply. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Plant Protection, and Agronomy. Duties and responsibilities include assisting with planting, note taking, pollinating corn nursery, and inoculating with plant pathogens. We'll provide training. We'll also see and explain our use of the on-site molecular marker lab in our research.
Limited overnight travel may be necessary. Hours will be at least M-F 8:00-5:00 plus part of most Saturdays during peak season (early July to early to August). Hard work ethic and attention to detail are critical. Interns will be responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience and training in many facets of crop research. All interns benefit from frequent discussions with research associates and PhD leads. Special projects for credit may be possible following discussions with your advisor.
