Job Description:

A postdoctoral associate position in High-Throughput Plant Phenotyping is immediately available in the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics at Cornell University. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a diverse team of scientists on an NSF funded project titled "A field-based high-throughput phenotyping platform for plant genetics." Specially, the candidate will lead independent research to develop ground-based vehicles and/or small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) with mounted sensors and cameras to phenotype plants grown in experimental field plots. In addition, the candidate will develop novel algorithms and software for processing and analyzing remotely sensed data to enable the genetic dissection of complex traits in plants.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, Plant Genetics, Plant Physiology, Agronomy or related discipline. Applicants having research skills and experience in remote sensing, algorithm development, computational methods, crop modeling, and/or high-throughput phenotyping are especially encouraged to apply.
