Plant DNA replication and chromatin dynamics

A postdoctoral research position to study the relationship between DNA replication and chromatin architecture in maize. The position is part of a cutting edge research project that uses flow cytometry and Illumina sequencing to examine DNA replication timing programs and chromatin states in plant cells. This position will initiate studies on the relationship between long distance chromatin interactions and replication timing programs in maize root tips, leveraging resources at NCSU, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and the Texas Advanced Computing Center. The position is available immediately and funded through early 2018 by a grant from the National Science Foundation Plant Genome Research Program (NSF-PGRP), and we plan a renewal submission for the 2016 PGRP deadline. We will also work with the postdoctoral researcher on a NSF NPGI fellowship application.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in biology. Experience in molecular and genomic techniques and bioinformatics is essential. Experience with plants is desirable.
