Graduate research assistantship on maize genomics available to US citizens
A graduate research assistantship is available to work on maize molecular genetics and genomics in the laboratory of Dr. Rajandeep Sekhon at Clemson University (http://www.clemson.edu/cafls/faculty_staff/profiles/sekhon). The position is restricted to minorities and underrepresented groups including women. US citizenship is required. The project will be focused on dissecting the genetic architecture of key agronomic and compositional traits in maize using a combination of genomic, transcriptomic, and molecular genetics approaches. The student will be trained in traditional field- and lab-based molecular genetics and application of computational approaches to address key biological questions. Student will have access to state-of-the-art high-performance computing resource (http://citi.clemson.edu/palmetto/).
