Dear colleagues,
we are happy to announce the release of two de novo assembled European Flint genomes that complement the maize pan-genome.
The two high-quality genomes of EP1 and F7, Zm-EP1-REFERENCE-TUM-1.0 and Zm-F7-REFERENCE-TUM-1.0, will be released in collaboration with the Maize Genetics and Genomics Database (MaizeGDB) and NCBI (BioProjects PRJNA360920 and PRJNA360923) in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Toronto Agreement for prepublication data sharing (Nature. 2009 461:168). The assemblies will be accessible via NCBI by the 1st of February and via MaizeGDB by the 6th of February. We published a short genome report describing the two assemblies (bioRxiv, doi: https://doi.org/10.1101/103747). Functional annotation supported by RNA-seq data and structural analysis of the two genomes is currently in progress.
Best regards,
Sandra Unterseer
