Title: Postdoctoral Researcher
Salary: $40,000 / year plus full-benefits
Percent Time: 100% (full-time position)
Contact Name Address: Jean-Michel Ané, Dept. of Agronomy, 348 Moore
Hall, 1575 Linden Drive, Madison, WI 53726
Requirements: A Ph.D. in Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology,
Microbial Genetics, Plant Pathology, or related fields is required. An
experienced postdoctoral scientist is needed to study the signals
produced by symbiotic microbes (rhizobia and arbuscular mycorrhizal
fungi) and the signaling pathways that they activate in legumes
(Medicago truncatula) and cereals (rice, maize and Setaria viridis).
The successful candidate will have co-authored one or more peer
reviewed publications in reputable international journals in this
field, and will be familiar with plant molecular and cellular biology,
microbial and plant genetics, molecular microbiology, and
plant-microbe interactions. Candidates with prior experience in the
analysis of large scale data (transcriptomic, proteomic,
metabolomic...) are especially encouraged to apply. Excellent oral and
written communication skills in English and the ability to work well
in a collaborative research environment are essential.
Job Duties: The postdoctoral researcher will study interactions
between plants (legumes and cereals) and symbiotic microbes (rhizobia
and mycorrhizal fungi). He/she will use a wide range of genetic,
molecular and cellular tools to study the signals produced by these
symbiotic microbes (microbiology side), and the signaling pathways
allowing host plants to perceive and transduce these signals (plant
side). The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in
interdisciplinary collaborations locally, nationally and
internationally.
How to Apply: Please send a cover letter, a CV and at least 3
references by email to Jean-Michel Ané (jane from wisc.edu).
Application Deadline: Applications will be accepted until a suitable
candidate is identified.
