Yes, There was Dore (Dynamic Object Rendering Environment) packages
which was released by Kubota in prior to their termination of operation
in US. The package was used in Molecular Simulation Inc's product line
for X-terminal, and it is shareware. The package was cleaned and built
for all unix platforms including linux. The technology is about 5 years
old, but solid. I will send you whole package up on request.
