This is third-hand, but I am told that one of a colleague's students had
this happen, and was found to have a subcutaneous, very small colony of
coral growing there...yes, truth is stranger than fiction. But when you
think about the salinity and all...yes the temperature is a bit high, but
right under the skin maybe not too high. I would recommend looking for a
similar situation.
