My son is interested in the field of microbiology. He is in middle school
now, but very smart and will be taking college courses next year. I
hope that I am not out of place by posting a request for advice on
in this forum, but here goes:
1. Would you out there, who have been through the system, recommend
an approach to his education?
2. What other newsgroup would be helpful for him to follow? (He is very
comfortable with computers and the Internet.)
3. Would anyone recommend a beginning textbook for someone starting out
in this field? I am looking for something college level.
On a different note, I have recently read an interesting book called,
"The Coming Plague" by Laurie Garret (I am not sure about the author).
I must admit that it was very interesting and seemed quite well
documented. I have no way to judge whether or not this is just another
alarmist book that is of the Chicken Little school. Comments?
