SCHISTOSOMIASIS VACCINE

Reuters is reporting the announcement in London by NIH
researchers of the development of a vaccine for schistosomiasis.
An account of the development will appear in the magazine
Nature. The principal researcher is Thomas Wynn. The vaccine,
not yet tested on humans, combines dead schistosome eggs
and interleuken-12. Wynn is reported saying that their approach
has been to try to block the disease itself.
