In South Korea, there are new Plasmodium vivax cases near North Korea border
from1993. There was no indigenious case for more than 10 years before 1993.
One man was confirmed as P. vavax infected case. He first experienced the
fever in July 2, 1995. It was believed as relapse form since he stayed in
North Korea border 2 years ago. In South Korea, vector mosquito,
Anopheles sinensis begin to suck the blood from mid July. There is another
problem. He donnated his blood two times in September 23, 1994 and in May 2,
1995. I believe that at that time, he had hypnozoite in the liver. Two men
received his packed cell. I think it is not necessary to treat two blood
receiver. However, I am not confident, since I have no much experience to
deal P. vivax infected cases. If anyone has a experience or specific
knowledge, I am very pleased to hear about the therapy in these
circumstances.
