I would like to complement Christopher for bringing to the forum
somehting that he said in a very eloquent manner. I saved the letter
that he responded to, to answer when I calmed down. Now I can delete it
and not hurt the feelings of the principals.
I was shocked too, to see so much misunderstanding and just plain
wrong advice be given out over this forum. As someone who teaches
medical students about parasitic diseases, even I feel uncomfortable when
it comes to talking about what drugs to use in a given circumstance.
I would like to suggest that while it is easy to log on and type
effortlessly to this or anyother group, if you are going to answer
scientific questions, please check your textbooks (notes from old
professors may not be up to date either), and if you want to come off as
truely scholarly, reference your post. The letter that Chritopher was
responding to not only recommended inappropriate drugs, but stated that
giardia and amoeba were essentially the same kinds of organisms.
On a happier note, I was glad to see that MissAmie did get some
good answers to her questions and in a timely fashion. That is what
makes the net worthwhile.
