I am periodically asked whether it is safe to eat sushi. There have, of
course, been reports of anisakiasis, eustrongyloidiasis and D. latum
infections due to sushi. My impression, however, is that these are
incredibly rare; there have only been a few hundred cases of anisakiasis
reported in the world, including Japan. What do other parasitology types
think?
