I have heard that it would not have been surprising if
Malaria had reappeared in (the former) Yugoslavia recently,
because of the breakdown of public order and the transient populations,
lack of healthcare, etc etc etc. Does anyone know if this in
fact happened or whether there are any other recent (post WW2)
cases of malaria returning to areas because of such disturbances.
Any sources for recent epidemics in places considered-malaria free
would also be welcome.
