NOTICE: A workshop on Techniques in Light Microscopy will be held from March 11
to March 14 from 6-8 p.m. in Rm. 313 of the Torrey Life Sciences building at the
University of Connecticut Storrs Campus. This workshop will be run by Kenneth
Tiekotter, director of the microscopy facility of the Good Samaritan Hospital
and Medical Center in Portland Oregon. It will feature lectures, discussions,
demonstrations, and hands-on experience with the various types of microscopy
including: bright field, dark field, Nomarsky, and phase contrast microscopy.
Space is limited. Individuals interested in participating in and/or obtaining
academic credit for this workshop should contact Dr. Janine Caira at (860)

This is the first in a series of workshops associated with an NSF sponsored
PEET grant in cestode systematics.
