I am looking for pictures (GIF, JPEG, etc.) of the schistosome
cercariae responsible for "swimmer's itch" (Trichobiharzia
ocellata?) for a potential presentation to my local parks board
[1], in order to convince them that they should at least warn
swimmers of the presence of the cercariae in the water and of
simple preventive measures, such as toweling off immediately
after leaving the water.
I have extruded some cercariae from pustules in my skin and
examined them under my son's microscope (50x), but I have no
camera to photograph them myself. Also, I'm a nuclear engineer,
not a biologist, so my sample preparation and microscope
techniques rate a D- at best.
