Kevin Tyler and I invite you to attend:

The third internet conference on salavarian trypanosomes and
trypanosomatids (TICSTT) beginning today at 10:00 GMT:

                http://www.trypanosome.org

In six sessions TICSTT will cover all aspects of trypanosome research
including biology and ultrastructure, biochemistry and drug
development, immunology and pathology, molecular biology,
epidemiology, vectors and a special debate on phylogeny and
evolution. Conference speakers John Seed and George Cross will
overview the field, some thirty further speakers will present talks
and finally a poster session will present work from any researchers
that wish to contribute.

The conference is free and registration is free for everyone. We do
ask attendees to register in order to participate in the discussions
so that presenters cannot be questioned anonymously.

On our first day we will be presenting:

Millenium Overviews:

George Cross
African trypanosomes in the 21st century: What is their future in
science and in health.

John Seed
African trypanosomiasis research: 100 years of progress, but
questions and problems still remain

Biology and Ultrastructure

Keith Gull
The Biology of Kinetoplastids: New insights and challenges from
genomics and post-genomics.

James C. Morris, M. E. Drew, M. M. Klingbeil, S. A. Motyka, T. T.
Saxowsky, Z. Wang, and P. T. Englund.
Replication of Kinetoplast DNA: An Update for the New Millennium

Michelle Dollet
Phloem-restricted trypanosomatids form a clearly characterized
monophyletic group among trypanosomatids isolated from plants

Kevin Tyler
The life cycle of Trypanosoma cruzi revisited

Peter Overath, J. Haaga and C. O'hUiginb
The surface structure of trypanosomes in relation to their molecular
phylogeny

Welcome to the TICSTT !
