MSc in the Molecular Biology of Infectious Diseases
Applications are invited for entry to this one-year full-time course in September 2003.
The course provides a theoretical understanding and 'hands-on' experience of molecular biology for students who wish to study the basic biology, taxonomy, diagnosis, epidemiology, immunology and/or chemotherapy of infectious agents. The course emphasises the application of cutting edge technologies to the study of pathogens and pathogenesis. A high proportion of students subsequently enter PhD programmes. Many students use this course to gain laboratory experience or to test their 'vocation' before committing to PhD studies. Entry requirements are of a first or second class undergraduate honours degree (or the equivalent) or appropriate training and experience.
