In terms of preserving parasites, I try to challenge students to think
about their world views and assumptions about how the biological world
operates in my introduction lectures in my undergraduate parasitology
class. Among other things I pass out an editorial that was printed in
Conservation Biology (1995) vol 9(1): 1-2 entitled "Equal Rights for
Parasites." by Donald Windsor. Another person who has talked about this
issue for a number of years is Daniel Brooks at the University of Toronto.
