Conference Announcement
"Structure, Function and Biogenesis of Chlorophyll-Protein Complexes-
A Conference in Honor of J. Philip Thornber"
A conference entitled "Structure, Funciton and Biogenesis of
Chlorophyll-Protein Complexes" is being planned for August 3-6, 1994 in
honor of the retirement of Professor J. P. Thornber. The conference will
be held at the Sunset Village Conference Center at UCLA in Los Angeles and
will focus on recent developments in the structural biology of
chlorophyll-protein complexes from plants and bacteria as well as future
research directions. The dates of this conference are such that they allow
for participants to coordinate their attendance with the Annual Meeting of
the Amer. Society of Plant Physiology in Portland, Oregon and the Gordon
Conference on Biophysical Aspects of Photosynthesis in New Hampshire.
The organizing committee for the conference includes Dr. R. Malki
(UC Berkeley, Chair), Dr. S. Merchant (UCLA), Dr. D. Knaff (Texas Tech
Univ.), Dr. R. Cogdell (Glasgow Univ.) and Dr. R. Nechushtai (Hebrew Univ.)
