The new LiCor is an open system, but whether it is right for you depends
upon what work you plan to do.

It is very expensive -- $25K
It is HUGE and BULKY -- over 20lbs of square box with the same clunky
LiCor handle.
All the important equipment is in the cuvette -- one good knock and it's
toast.
AND they have no plans to make a conifer chamber (only an issue for a
select number of us users -- obviously there aren't enough of us out
there).

I recently looked into buying a ps machine.
I polled many users of different systems before deciding.
If you or anyone you know may benefit from my findings, e-mail me -- I'm
willing to share.
